Chapter Five: The Mysterious Woman

I sat beside the camp fire. The flickering flame danced a hypnotic glow upon the trees all around us. I tensed up slightly, as I pulled a long shard of glass out of my face. I tossed it down onto the pile of glass beside me. That was all of it. I had suffered a broken leg and cuts to my arms and face. I would need to find a decent meal soon if I wanted to recover from these wounds. Zombies had amazing regeneration ability. The flesh of the living could heal the flesh of the dead. It was just a case of getting my hands on a living human, which would be difficult with a broken leg.

The sound of a motorbike approaching reached my ears.

I watched as the naked rider pulled up beside the campfire.

A tied up and blindfolded Zombie Hunter was resting upon the back of her bike. The rider kicked the stand down and pulled the Zombie Hunter off the bike. She grabbed a handful of his long hair and dragged him over towards me. She pushed him down upon my lap.

‘You should eat,’ she told me.

‘Oh god, I’m going to die,’ whimpered the Zombie Hunter.

‘Thank you,’ I replied. My eyes momentarily betrayed me, as they dropped between her thighs. She also had something that looked pretty good to eat. I leaned down and sank my teeth into the flesh of the Zombie Hunters shoulder. He cried out, as I took a nice big bite. I could feel the warmth of his blood tickle the back of my throat, as I swallowed. A cut upon my cheek sealed itself. It was like the cut had never been there. I could feel the pain within my body fade just slightly.

‘Who are you?’

‘I am a Zombie Samurai,’ explained the rider. She unclipped her helmet and carefully removed it from her head. My jaw nearly hit the floor. It was like looking into the face of an angel. This woman was a beauty like I had never seen before. She was like a walking talking artistic masterpiece. The woman had long fiery red hair that hung seductively over her naked shoulders. Her eyes were the deepest blue I had ever had the pleasure to see. They were so deep it was like looking into eternity. She had high cheek bones and a smile that could cure the world of depression. ‘My name is Charlotte.’

‘I’m Meredith.’

‘Nice to meet you, Meredith,’ she said, with that gorgeous smile. ‘What were you doing in the city?’

I continued to eat the Zombie Hunter. It was hard to have a pleasant conversation with him screaming so much, but we would have to make do. I needed him alive to reap the healing benefits.

‘I am the Zombie Samurai that is patrolling sector 7-A,’ I explained. ‘What are you doing in sector 7-A and why were there so many Zombie Hunters? They have never ventured this far into Zombie territory to spring a trap before.
